Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
Success also indicates he has won 21 championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was finished.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an better service.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet defended four early chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
