More than 50 lone young refugees who went missing shortly after reaching the UK and while under the supervision of government agencies are remain unaccounted for, as per information obtained.

Many of the vanished youths came in dinghies or stowed away in the cargo areas of lorries and are presumed to have been seized by traffickers. Kent is commonly the place where they initially reach.

Official Data Reveals Disturbing Totals

Freedom of information records has documented 345 children vanishing from the region, with 56 of those remaining unaccounted for.

Between 2021 and 2023, when temporary accommodations for children operated in addition to similar establishments in other areas, 132 children went missing from these facilities. Among them, 108 were eventually recovered but 24 are yet to be found.

From 2020 and August 2025, 213 children disappeared from care facilities for these minors, with 182 found and 32 yet to be accounted for.
