Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
